WASHINGTON, DC — Following API’s press conference in which they presented the same old disproven misinformation to discredit the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), Tom Buis CEO of Growth Energy released the following statement:
“I am not surprised to hear that API held a press conference to discuss how to ‘fix’ the RFS. This is a classic example of the fox guarding the chicken coop. Really?
“Special interests will stop at nothing to discredit the success of renewable fuels created right here at home to ensure their lock on the fuels market goes unchecked. They continue to protect the status quo, ensuring our addiction to foreign oil and preventing consumers a choice at the pump.
“The RFS is the most successful energy policy this nation has enacted in the last forty years. Not only is it creating jobs, revitalizing rural economies and improving our environment, it is also decreasing out dependence on foreign oil while providing consumers choice and savings at the pump.”
