Renewable Energy Industry Joins Together to Secure America’s Energy Future
Leaders from the Renewable Energy Industry joined together at the 25 x '25 Renewable Energy Summit today to discuss the progress that has been made in each sector and the challenges that must be overcome to create a new energy future for the United States.
The goal of the 25 x '25 coalition is to get 25 percent of our energy from renewable resources like wind, solar, and biofuels by the year 2025.
Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis was a featured guest at the "Path to 25x'25" panel along with representatives from the Biopower, Wind, Solar, Hydropower and Geothermal Energy sectors. Buis outlined the progress that has been made in the ethanol industry and discussed ways for the industry to move forward.
Following the conclusion of the panel, the coalition released a report during a press conference demonstrating the steady progress that has been made toward achieving that 25 x '25 goal.
Of the 25x'25 report, Buis said, “The 25x25 report demonstrates the tremendous progress that has been made by the renewable fuel sector to create a cleaner, more energy independent nation. Clean, domestic fuels, like ethanol, can help break our nation’s addiction to oil to help strengthen our national security, improve our environment and create U.S. jobs. Achieving the goals outlined by the 25x25 coalition will help us secure a new energy future for our children and our grandchildren.
