Congressional Staffers Visit Growth Energy Plant Member Badger State Ethanol
On Monday, August 23rd, Congressional staffers from the offices of Sens. Herb Kohl (D-WI) and Russ Feingold (D-WI) toured Growth Energy Member Plant Badger State Ethanol in Monroe, WI.
Chris Hickling of Sen. Kohl’s office and Michelle Murray of Sen. Feingold’s office had not been to an ethanol plant before this tour and called the experience "eye opening."
Every day, ethanol producers are developing technological improvements to increase efficiency, reduce water use, and boost the amount of energy derived from corn kernels or from cellulosic biomass. Modern day ethanol plants provide an economic boost to local communities across the country and employ some of the most cutting edge technologies and innovations available today.
President Obama visited a Growth Energy member plant in Macon, Mo., during his ‘White House to Main Street’ tour in April and commended the plant workers for their contribution to America’s clean energy future.
At the Badger State Ethanol plant yesterday, General Manager Gary Kramer led the tour and highlighted the significant contributions that ethanol has made to our economy, our environment and our national security. Kramer also discussed Growth Energy’s Fueling Freedom Plan with Hickling and Murray.
