The most recent studies show that relative to gasoline, ethanol's greenhouse gas emissions are reduced up to 50 percent for corn ethanol and 87 percent for cellulosic ethanol. Recent improvements in agriculture have increased crop productivity dramatically, providing biofulels with a huge boost without hurting food supplies.
